2404.ORG and SKNR.net Updates

We have updated our header here at 2404.ORG for easier navigation and ease of use. In addition, Gareth of SKNR.net, a partner site, has announced that he is completely overhauling his website.

If you haven't noticed already, we have updated the main header here at 2404.ORG. If things look funky at the top, try refreshing a couple of times. I wanted to design a header that would be updated, both design-wise but also in terms of functionality. The old look included banners from older games and the graphic design, as far as the text was concerned, didn't look good in my opinion. It should be noted, however, that I'm really never satisfied with the graphic design on this website and I'm always trying to keep things fresh and modern. The old navigation also included a link to "your account" that went to the forums, which may have been confusing to new visitors. The main site (not the forums) does not require a login. I've added a drop-down menu to make article navigation much simpler, but of course required a wee bit of Javascript, thanks to good old Internet Explorer (thanks a lot for your non-complaint browser Microsoft). So the site is slightly less W3C valid but I think it is an improvement. If you are wondering how it was done, I used the suckerfish drop-down menu that can be viewed at HTMLDog.com, which seems to be a popular method. We will be adding additional games to the header soon.

If you see any issues or errors with the new navigation, or anywhere on the site for that matter (besides the BSG April Fools' Joke), please don't hesitate to send an email, comment, or post in our forums.

Gareth wanted me to let everyone know that he is currently completely overhauling SKNR.net and converting it to a WordPress website. You can register at the new site and then Gareth will send out an email when it is ready to be launched.
