Eve of Destruction Review

Yet another great mod hits the scene for Battlefield 1942. This time you’re playing in Vietnam. Eve of Destruction is the 2nd largest mod yet to hit battlefield. With amazing game play and loads of new maps, vehicles, and models EOD already has a very large following competing with Battlefield’s most popular mod Desert Combat. One of the best things about the game is its custom maps. This is one of the only mods that were released with the majority of the game play on these 8 new custom maps. These maps are very well made are essential if you want to feel like your playing in Vietnam. Another reason EOD has become so popular is because of the introduction to so many new vehicles and weapons. EOD’s most recent release, EOD12%, currently has 13 new playable vehicles with planes, vehicles, and of course helicopters (can’t have a Vietnam game without a huey!). EOD also has new weapons for every class on both American and Vietnamese teams.

Some of you are thinking… Well I just heard about Battlefield: Vietnam, why don’t I just get that when it comes out. Well EOD is planning to release their fully completed mod before 2004, while Battlefield: Vietnam being released in spring 2004, Plus this is free! I’m giving a rating on this game based on its most recent release (12%). There are some small downsides to the mod and balance issues on some maps but this mod is only 12% done and they still have a ton to add. Look for EOD20% being released very shortly!
