Enter The Matrix Review

If you are a die hard Matrix fan and you want to see extra film footage along with a so/so game, then Enter The Matrix is the game for you. The greatest things about this game is the exclusive film footage that only someone that buys this game will be able to watch. (Yes, that is REAL FILM FOOTAGE. They play it with DiVX software if you read the copyright information on the load up) The total film footage in the game is said to be nearly a FULL HOUR!

As far as the game play: the keys seem a little strange at first, but once you get used to it, you feel like you’re in one of the movies. An interesting fact about the game is that it was written and directed by the Wachowski brothers, and the characters that are in the game, from the movie, had their movements and facial expressions captured for the game. The official Enter the Matrix site says that “without the game, you won’t see the entire Matrix Reloaded story,” a fact alone which may convince some people to go out and buy it. As you go throughout the game you learn new moves and combos, which always help you when you are in trouble. The graphics are allright, they're not great but they're not bad. The driving part of the game is not very good. I would definitely recommend seeing the Matrix: Reloaded before buying this game, otherwise you won’t really understand the storyline of the game.

Pros
-CONSTANT ACTION!!!!
-Lots of Guns/weapons
-Bullet time, walking on walls, incredible moves
-Characters from the movie played the parts in the game
-New movie footage!
-Great music/Soundtrack

Cons
-You’re characters hands come up really high when you run, and it looks very awkward at first
-The driving parts aren’t good
-You can’t save when you want, you get to checkpoints and it asks you if you want to save
-Neo and Trinity are not in the game (You have a choice of playing one of two side characters)
-The game is mostly auto-aim, which is a bad habit to get into if you play other shooter games.
-The A.I. isn't good

Overall, I would say that this is an average game, but I really like the film footage. Be sure to download the patch after you install the game. The patch fixes graphics issues and other things; you can get it at Atari’s site by clicking here.
