Battlefield 1942 Review

Good Computer + Battlefield 1942 = MOST ADDICTING GAME, EVER! Battlefield 1942 is a one of a kind game. It’s got anything, and EVERYTHING you would EVER want in a WWII game, actually its got pretty much everything you’d ever want in a game, period. There are so many aspects to deal with in this game; it feels almost overwhelming at times. I mean your playing online and you look around you notice and realize that EVERY single thing and person you see moving around and interacting in this games massiveness is an actual human being. You got engineers repairing damaged tanks, snipers in watch towers guarding the area, a pair of soldiers traveling by jeep to go check up on the next camp, an amazing view of a fleet of battleships and carriers from the coastline, the sight of the American flag waving in the glares of the sun, the feeling of fear when you are pinned down by infantry and two Panzer tanks, a scout in an Anti-Aircraft gun shooting down Soviet planes, a TON to comprehend if you ask me!

While I’m on a roll with this, let me explain to you some of the awesome features this game has to offer. Well first off there is a Single player campaign and a Single player “Instant Battle”, it’s basically a huge bot battle with you in the middle of it. There is the legendary and outstanding Multiplayer, that is (in my opinion) worth every cent you pay for the game!

Battlefield’s gameplay is great; the controls are easy to set up too. Let me talk a little more about the gameplay, there are 3 game modes for the multiplayer; Elimination (Kill everyone, end of story), Capture The Flag (super fun), and the most popular one, Conquest (this is like real war, the enemy armies fight for control and when you control the certain points you can then respawn there and equipment will spawn there too) Conquest is my favorite, probably due to the competition between the armies. Ok let’s say that your in a server and your ready to play, here is everything you are capable of doing in BF1942: Drive jeeps, drive Tanks, drive APC’s, pilot airplanes/bombers/fighters, be the back gunner on the two person planes to help fight off “tale”, man Anti-Aircraft guns, control battleships and carriers, set dynamite chargers, lay landmines, call for artillery using binoculars, man a 50cal heavy machine gun from a watch tower, control coastline Artillery canons, command and drive a submarine in the depths of the sea, torpedo enemy aircraft carriers, be apart of a tank crew and be the top gunner on a tank, play on over 16 authentic maps from the actual 4 theaters of World War II; East Europe/West Europe/ South Africa/ and the mighty Pacific, disembark from a battleship or carrier to battle with 15 of your men to the beach (or enemy base) using the Personnel Landing Craft, blow up an APC or Tank using an Anti-Armor rocket launcher, pilot through dangerous desert valleys, carry a band of infantry to the enemy territory while the man on top is protecting you and watching your back with a 50cal machine gun, destroy subs with dept chargers, pick-off enemy units from great distances, AND MUCH MUCH MORE!

Seriously you all should buy this game. I won’t be surprised if it gets ACTION GAME OF THE YEAR, or even GAME OF THE YEAR (well Star Wars Galaxies isn’t out yet so we’ll see about that), so in short get this game, but make sure your machine can properly handle it, I recommend at least a good GeForce 3, 800 MHz, and a couple gigs of memory! But if you have a good comp already you got nothing to worry about, go get this game and ENJOY the HECK OUTA IT!
