Playlogic to publish Captain Blood

Playlogic has announced that it has signed an agreement with Akella in which it will publish "Captain Blood" for the PC and Xbox360 in cooperation with 1C Company. Captian Blood is a pirate action game based on Rafael Sabatini’s novel, “Captain Blood: His Odyssey,” and is scheduled to be released early summer of 2006.

"The player takes the role of a brave and noble corsair, following his intriguing and amazing adventures in 1685 Spanish Main, where an English surgeon was framed and condemned to penal servitude on Barbados. During hard times he became a pirate and escaped from his tropical prison. The Caribbean was quickly set ablaze by his deeds and exploits. Captain Blood gives players an extraordinary chance to live the life of the most eccentric pirate from Rafael Sabatini’s bestselling book.

While the Spanish Maritime Empire spread around the world, the "Spanish Main" referred to the coastal region of the Americas surrounding the Caribbean Sea, particularly the coast of South America from the Isthmus of Panama to the mouth of the Orinoco River.

The game's mission-based structure gives players a diverse battlefield on both land and sea, where they must engage in ship-to-ship battles and sword fights to gain control of invaded ships. Gamers earn special points for fighting rival sea dogs, acquiring new fighting techniques and gold for weapons and equipment."
