64-bit Half-Life 2 and Lost Coast released

Valve has announced that it has released a 64-bit version of its source code today and has released compatible versions of Half-Life 2 and the Lost Cost tech demo.
According to Valve Steam will now detect your OS and run the appropriate version of the game. You must have Windows 64 as well as an AMD 64-bit processor to run the new version.
"Bringing the Source technology to the AMD64 processor platform is an important step in the evolution of our game content and tools," said Gabe Newell, Valve's co-founder and president. "This investment in future processing will allow us, and third party developers working with Source, to push the boundaries of the gaming experience."
