CDV Software Entertainment has announced that "Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened" can now be purchased and downloaded through IGN's
Direct2Drive.
"The Awakened is a 3D adventure that challenges players to take on the roles of both Sherlock Holmes and his trusted assistant Dr. Watson as they attempt to uncover the machinations of a dark cult dedicated to the elder god Cthulhu, made famous by the literature of H.P. Lovecraft.
“We are thrilled to expand the availability of our titles, particularly during a time of year where many PC games -- while packed with great entertainment value but lacking huge production and marketing budgets -- struggle to achieve maximum retail distribution,” indicated Mario Kroll, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for cdv Software Entertainment USA. “Our digital distribution strategy that we launched earlier this year is generating noticeable additional sales, and Direct2Drive has been instrumental in helping us reach a broader audience with well-received and positively reviewed PC titles like Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened.”
Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened combines the eerie mysticism of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos with the mystery-solving powers of the great detective Sherlock Holmes. The Awakened is the first fully 3D Sherlock Holmes game, and will feature rich graphics and detailed environments. Fans of the mystery genre will feel right at home with the classic point-and-click interface as they explore five distinctly chilling environments while solving mysteries and completing puzzles based on object physics and lighting. With 60 unique characters roaming the game world, it will be difficult to tell who is friend or foe in this, Sherlock Holmes' most challenging, and horrifying, adventure."
