Introversion has announced that they have signed a deal with Valve
software to make Darwinia available through the popular Steam software
delivery platform.
"
Darwinia is the second release from Introversion, a UK-based
development group originally founded by three university students who
set out to create games that summon the pioneering spirit of the
industry’s early classics. The follow up to this group’s debut title
(Uplink), Darwinia is a captivating mix of multiple genres including
real-time strategy, arcade, and puzzle games."
Darwinia will no longer be available to purchase at the Introversion
site and the demo will also be temporarily pulled. As with "Rag Doll
Kung Fu" gamers will be able to pre-order the game for 10% less than
what it will sell for once it is released.
It looks like Steam could become much more popular with independent
developers looking to have probably the best marketing you could pay
for.
