Iocaine Studios has announced that pre-orders for "ThreadSpace: Hyperbol" have begun on Valve Software's Steam platform and a demo has also been released which is also available via Steam.
"Today through July 11th, the game is available for pre-order on Steam for $15.95. ThreadSpace: Hyperbol will be released on Thursday, July 12th for $19.95. Iocaine has also released a four-hour demo of ThreadSpace: Hyperbol available on Steam now, as well.
ThreadSpace: Hyperbol offers a persistent online universe that allows players to accumulate credits and buy and modify better ships. Online battles blend strategy and action using real-time physics and a host of different weapons and defensive capability.
"Steam is just great. Here you have a platform that can reach millions of users and carry an impressive game lineup," said Jason Fader, president of Iocaine Studios. "Indie games like ours can get some great exposure this way, plus Steam makes it really easy for users to try the game before they buy it."
"Iocaine Studios is taking full advantage of the ways developers can test, distribute, and promote great games via Steam," said Jason Holtman, director of business development at Valve. "Last week, Steam hosted a successful 'stress test' of ThreadSpace: Hyperbol, during which thousands of users playtested the game's multiplayer features. Starting this week, gamers can experience the official demo and save 20% by pre-ordering the full game."
